During a 50-year project in the 17th century Amsterdam grew to four times its previous size, becoming the 3rd largest city in the world after London and Paris. Central to that plan was the Canal Belt, a network of concentric canals that is now UNESCO listed.

Built on reclaimed land, Amsterdam is a feat of ingenuity, and still crackles with the ambition, cultural tolerance and enterprise that drove the 17th-century Golden Age when the Netherlands led the world in trade, maritime power, culture and economic might. DAY 1
You will be greeted at Schiphol airport by your guide and transferred to your hotel. Following lunch you will visit a Dutch coffee shop and have the afternoon free to relax or explore the shops and boutiques in the area.

DAY 2
After breakfast we will take a day trip to Haarlem, after which the famed American City was named for a walking and canal tour. We will return to Amsterdam via the beach town of Zaadvoordt. After dinner we will sample nightlife in Amsterdam

DAY 3
A day of sightseeing including Anne Frank's house, the Royal Palace, the Flower Market and Van Gogh's Museum. We will enjoy lunch in the city then continue on to Leidseplein and do a bit of shopping. This evening we will enjoy a Canal Dinner Cruise.

DAY 4
Today we will visit Zaanse Schans and Edam for a windmills, clogs and cheese experience. Afterwards we will visit the fishing village of Volendam and do some shopping for traditional artwork. Return to Amsterdam for dinner, then a fun tour of the Red Light District.

DAY 5
A day packed with fun visiting an open air street market, the House of Bols cocktail experience, Shopping on Amsterdam's Rodeo Drive, then a stop at the Heineken Brewery following lunch. You will also enjoy the famous Moco Museum. This evening we'll enjoy dinner and nightlife in Amsterdam.

DAY 6
Following breakfast, we will depart for our flight to Copenhagen. The Hop On Hop Off Sightseeing Tour will allow us to see the entire city. After lunch we will have free time to enjoy the cosmopolitan city.
Our dinner will be followed by a nightime visit to the famed Tivoli Gardens.

Overnight: Scandic Kodbyen
DAY 7
This morning we will take a return flight to Amsterdam and visit Rotterdam, the young Dutch city, where we'll enjoy the Rotterdam Food Hall for an amazing culinary display with specialities from the area. After lunch, we'll do some shopping to pick up souvenirs and other items to take home. We'll return to Amsterdam for our hosted Farewell Dinner and a free evening.

DAY 8
Our Netherlands vacation will leave you with memories of all the special events, places and people that became a part of our lives this week.

After breakfast, we will depart for the airport and our trip home.
